Saritha Sreedharan asserts herself as a Spiritual Vegan. Introduced to ancient study of Vedanta in her early teens, she completed a 3yrs residential course at Vedanta academy. Practicing for over 2 decades to date, she continues to dedicate her life to Vedanta study and its propagation. Supported by value based thinking like Ahimsa(Non- Injury) & healthy living she was inspired to adapt to Vegan and Whole foods plant based lifestyle for over 7 years. Pursuing her interest in Nutrition health, she studied a Whole food Plant based Nutrition course from Cornell University, USA. Saritha is a Co founder of Mind & Intellect and Vedanta Fest. She trains young adults on Vedanta, ancient wisdom. With her soulful voice she also teaches traditional Sacred chants. 

Her purpose of authoring a Whole food Plant based cookbook(WFPB) is to create awareness that WFPB lifestyle is practical & easy for anyone to adapt to. She aims to author a cookbook on Whole food Meal replacer Salads, Traditional Indian Cuisines in the future. With her natural interest to create and develop recipes, she already has over 500 original recipes to her credit.

Food and health have been vital aspects of our lives for many centuries. Ancient Indian scriptures have divinized food and its impact on an individual’s thought process.

Ayurveda & Nutrition science has evolved its efforts in reversing chronic ailments through food and lifestyle changes. Whole plant-based lifestyle has also contributed immensely towards bringing in positive changes in human health.

I had many queries which bothered me 7 years ago when I was introduced to the whole food plant based lifestyle. Why should I become a vegan? Is there any scientific reason? Any humanitarian reason? Does it have any impact in the way we think? Does one need to sacrifice? Is life boring being a vegan? etc. Queries can be unending and they all sound valid. All of the above doubts were clarified and well supported as my reasons to turn vegan were humanitarian & health.

Vegan and Plant based diets have gained recent popularity and become game changers in the world of health and fitness. Many are opting for changed eating habits to bring back their strength and immunity. Whole food Plant based living supports positive lifestyle change. This lifestyle limits the use of added oils, added sugars, and processed foods, leaving only whole foods to provide nutrition, which maximizes nutrient intake and virtually eliminates foods that can lead to poor health outcomes. These diets are low in saturated fat, free of cholesterol, rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
